The menu showcases Argentina’s rich culinary heritage with standout dishes such as the Ribeye Steak and the highly praised Empanada Carne Con Queso. The quality of meat here is exceptional, with steaks cooked precisely to order, tender, and bursting with authentic flavor. The “Bife de Chorizo” and “Vacío” cuts offer distinct textures and profiles—lean asada-style versus a richer, fattier taste—highlighting Argentinian grilling at its best.

Pasta selections, notably the buratta pasta and classic spaghetti, stand out as top contenders among Texas’s finest. The buratta pasta, in particular, has been celebrated by diners for its vibrant, fresh taste reminiscent of authentic Mexican flavors, complemented by delicate side salads dressed with balsamic or Caesar vinaigrette.

La Clandestina’s appetizers and sides also elevate the dining experience. The empanadas are generously filled and flavorful, while dishes like the albondigas de res and mushroom appetizers deliver comforting, well-seasoned bites. For those preferring lighter fare, selections such as shrimp with cauliflower offer a delightful balance on the menu.

The beverage program thoughtfully reflects both classic and playful options. From Argentinian-inspired cocktails like the Martini and Whiskey Sour to creative shots and refreshing mocktails, there is something to please every palate. The staff's deep knowledge of the menu ensures expertly paired drinks that complement each dish.

Service across the board garners high praise from guests, with attentive, knowledgeable waitstaff like Santiago, Nyssa, Armando, and Stephanie frequently mentioned for enhancing the overall experience through thoughtful recommendations and seamless attention to detail. Their commitment to quality extends beyond the kitchen, creating an environment that feels personalized and authentic.

Best place by far in Brownsville. The buratta pasta is the best ive had in the usa, taste like in mexico. The side salad with either balsamic or ceasar is one of the best ive ever had. Las carnes we should have asked for medium well, they were too raw they did ask if it was cooked like we liked, so that was our bad. I liked el vacio more it tasted asada, vs beef de lomo argentina was fattier (also in taste) and not asada. Salsas all 3 were the best around. The empanada de elote y rajas was great, but couldn’t compete with the other plates. Drink with tequila and pina was perfect too! I should have taken pics of food before we dug in..Santiago was our waiter and was solid. Came back and had the burata salad, shrimp with cauliflower, pasta corta (with bacon), the mushroom appetizer, all loved by all. The pasta needed a smidge of salt. Had the margarita pizza, the parmesan was on the strong side, but most slices had very little, so it was interesting. The bread was a bit more common tasting, pizza was the least fav. Not that the valley has pizzas that are too much better than this. Service was next level. Pastas here compete with the best of the best in tx.

Been looking forward to trying another upscale dining place in Brownsville and glad I tried La Clandestina. First the decor is really nice. Big fan of the greenery placed around the restaurant. Ambient lighting makes for a nice easy dinner. We had the empanadas to start, the poblano queso and the carne with queso. They are pretty big, but definitely stuffed and delicious. Also had the albondigas de res, which was fall apart tender ground beef and the sauce was good as well. For the main course I had the bife de chorizo on the chef's recommendation. Finally a tender steak cooked as ordered (medium) with good flavor. There's some "fancy" steakhouses I've been to that have chewy meat with no flavor. This place definitely has some of the better cuts of meat. Also enjoyed a side of mashed potatoes and fries which were good. Wife had the spaghetti which she also enjoyed. Service is excellent. Shout-out to our waitress Nyssa who spoke to the chef to cater to the cut of meat I was looking for. Also, there was a mishap with ordering a dish, which was corrected at no cost. Overall this is an excellent place for upscale dining and I will definitely be back to try the desserts. On another note, they played 50 cent and Akon so the place is lit.

I absolutely LOVE coming here for brunch! The food is impeccable and everything I've tried as of date is a knockout 10/10! I love telling my friends and family about this place and coming with them. Eggs Benedict is incredible as well as their specialty drinks. Hope this place keeps growing strong, because most importantly the food is delicious, the staff and service is incredible and you will not find a more relaxing and inviting atmosphere. A truly unique and delicious experience here in Brownsville! Steak and eggs were fantastic and a little glimpse of what I can expect for dinner! The music and atmosphere are also very appreciated because it is not abrasive. Very tasteful selection of music featuring Tiny Desk. Brownsville really needed a dining experience like this and it is unforgettable!!

Stephanie took great care of us. She made great recommendations it was obvious she knows the menu well. The rest of the staff also stepped in to provide a great dinning experience. Food was yummy and the atmosphere was relaxed but fun. The music and giant screen with music videos and food recommendations/pictures kept giving us additional recommendations of drinks and food items that we ended up trying. I would absolutely come back and enjoy other items that were thought provoking. The birthdays kept going but the atmosphere was fun. 10/10!
